Really, is there anything else on earth quite like summer?
There's just something about the long days, warm nights, freedom that cultivates the perfect setting for loads of fun everyday. I am suddenly way less concerned about the girls getting messy, or running around hardly clothed. Bright pink cherry stains on a brand new shirt of Saylor's solicited only a surprisingly little shrug out of me, which I'm sure the winter-Amy did not agree with. The laundry seems to pile up a bit more, the carpet definitely needs a thorough vacuum, but every morning before 7 am (my children are the earliest risers), we find ourselves out in the backyard, finding lizards, checking the garden and running through the sprinkler.
So here's to summer!
